On the backs of two new casino openings, the emergence of sports betting, and another strong performance from online gambling, New Jersey gaming revenue saw a sizeable bump, by far its most significant of 2018 so far.
In June 2018, revenue was up 7.3% year-on-year, from $217.7 million to $233.6 million. And while it would be far too presumptuous to say June’s numbers signal a revival for Atlantic City, they are certainly a welcome sigh of relief for a gaming industry that hasn’t had too many good months since 2006.
