NFL General Manager of Sports Betting David Highhill to Keynote NCLGS Summer Meeting July 12-15 in Denver

DENVER – David Highhill, the first executive hired by the National Football League to focus solely on the sports betting industry, will be a keynote speaker at the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) Summer Meeting, July 12-15 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown. Highhill’s keynote speech will be at the NCLGS luncheon on Friday, July 14.

As General Manager of Sports Betting, Highhill is responsible for driving the NFL’s cross-functional efforts in sports betting across its key strategic pillars of game integrity, brand, and fan engagement.

In an interview last year with ESPN, Highhill noted that, “serving fans where they are is very important and that goes right alongside with supporting our relationship with the National Council on Problem Gambling and ensuring that we take a leadership position on problem gambling."

Previously, Highhill worked in the NFL’s Corporate Strategy group (VP, Strategy & Analytics). There he led cross-functional workstreams like the creation of fan segmentation and lifetime value models, league-wide strategic planning, and the go-to-market strategies around the NFL’s sports betting initiatives.

Before his work in the Corporate Strategy group, Highhill had broad fan and commercial experience, launching the NFL’s Competitive Gaming platform with EA Sports and the Madden NFL franchise, consulting with NFL teams on ticketing analytics, and setting league tentpole game ticketing strategy.

Prior to joining the NFL, Highhill worked at Turnkey Intelligence (now MarketCast), where he focused on fan survey research and building predictive models to estimate season ticket purchase and renewal likelihood. A Lehigh University graduate, he received a B.A. and M.S. in Psychology.

The NCLGS Summer and Winter meetings are the only gaming conferences in the United States that focus on the goals and plans of legislative decision-makers. The Summer Meeting agenda offers extensive benefits for attendees that include:

  • More than 80 legislators and regulators from 27 states are confirmed to attend
  • The opportunity to meet dozens of operators, suppliers, attorneys, lobbyists and media
  • Critical discussions on all current aspects of regulated gaming
  • NCLGS Legislative 101s: The Big Picture – Focus on the Future Gaming Leaders
  • Two luncheon keynote addresses
  •  Legislative Committee sessions
  • Two Masterclasses presented by the International Masters of Gaming Law
  • Two evening networking receptions

In addition, Gaming Laboratories International will co-locate its GLI Regulator Seminar with the NCLGS Summer Meeting, and the Sports Betting Regulators Association will hold a general session open to all attendees.
