Last week, Caesars Entertainment announced the sale of the Belle of Baton Rouge to CQ Holding Company, Inc (Casino Queen). A Caesars press release did not disclose the deal’s financial terms but stated it should close in mid-2021.
The news sounds like a minor organization shuffle among small regional casinos, but it could have larger implications for one of the country’s biggest online sports betting brands.
Belle of Baton Rouge to Rebrand Under DraftKings?
Casino Queen currently operates two casinos in the Midwest: Casino Queen Marquette in Iowa and DraftKings at Casino Queen in Illinois. The Belle of Baton Rouge will become Casino Queen’s third property after the sale finalizes.
