In addition, at the same festival at Venetian this July, WPT and WPTDeepStacks set new records for the tours. WPT Venetian became the largest $5,000 buy-in event in WPT history with 1,199 entries with a prize pool that reached over $5.5 million. WPTDeepStacks set a new record for the largest prize pool in the tour’s history with $3,288,600 accumulated among 1,512 entries in the WPTDeepStacks Venetian event.

Additionally, the WPT’s recent online collaboration with Poker King on the WPT Heads Up Championship saw 32 of poker’s highest-profile players in classic heads up matches concluding with the crowning of WPT Champions Club member Phil Ivey as the winner.

Adam Pliska, CEO of the World Poker Tour®, said, “WPT management looks forward to this new chapter for the WPT and to the announcement of new initiatives in the near future as we prepare for our 20th anniversary next year and the further expansion of the WPT.”
