Racing and Gaming Conference at Saratoga To Feature Expert on Responsible Gaming

Marlene D. Warner, one of the nation’s foremost leaders in responsible gaming, will be a featured speaker at The Racing & Gaming Conference at Saratoga (RGCS), which takes place August 16-17 at the historic Saratoga Race Course.

Warner, who is Executive Director of the Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health and a Spectrum Safer Gaming Advisor, will discuss how technology and regulation are helping to protect players in multiple channels of gaming. Her August 17 presentation will immediately follow keynote speaker Congressman Paul Tonko of New York’s 20th Congressional District.

The Racing & Gaming Conference at Saratoga is an intensive, premier forum for industry decision-makers, stakeholders, and racing and gaming patrons to analyze trends in all sectors – both in New York and nationally – as well as to discuss critical issues and to share ideas.

“Marlene Warner is a trusted, respected expert who fully understands best practices in responsible gaming, as she helped develop those practices,” said Michael Pollock, Managing Director of Spectrum Gaming Group, which is organizing the RGCS with veteran New York attorney Patrick Brown.

Warner’s presentation topics will include:

  • Legal and regulatory considerations to safely combine pari-mutuel wagering and gaming
  • Protections available to safely transition players from pari-mutuel or sports betting to casinos
  • Data systems – how to gather, study, and utilize player data to protect consumers and operators

The expected 150+ Racing and Gaming Conference at Saratoga attendees will include gaming and racing industry leaders, academics, elected officials, lawyers, regulators, and racing patrons to examine the trends, challenges, and critical issues facing the racing and gaming industries. More than 40 gaming and racing industry professionals will participate in 14 sessions as speakers and panelists throughout the two days.

The RGCS takes place in 1863 Club at Saratoga Race Course. Located at the Clubhouse turn, the 1863 Club offers exceptional experiences with breathtaking views while maintaining a theme of Saratoga’s historic charm. The luxury facility was named to commemorate the first meet at Saratoga.
