To say that Fiscal Year 2017/18 was an active 12 months for Pennsylvania’s gaming regulatory body, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, would be putting it mildly.
Already home to 12-land based casinos, with a 13th on the way, Pennsylvania went all-in on gambling last October, when lawmakers passed legislation that legalized online gambling, sports betting, video gambling terminals at truck stops, gaming in airports, and daily fantasy sports. The new law also enables the construction of new Category 4 mini-casinos throughout the state, of which we now know there will likely be five.
