Daily fantasy sports industry a $4B national business, NYS document shows by John Brennan

While the daily fantasy sports industry isn’t necessarily advertising the scope of its business, a New York state law passed last year requires the companies to disclose the entry fees collected. That’s because the numbers are required in order for the state to compute how much tax revenue to charge.

The New York Gaming Commission recently released an “Interactive Fantasy Sports Summary of Monthly Tax/Fiscal Year 2016-17” report.
